Weifang University which is approved by the Ministry of Education as a full-time regular higher education university has a history of 57 years. It lies in the famous historical cultural city of Weifang which is also known as the Kite Capital of the world with beautiful scenery. Covering an area of 1,200,000 square meters, the university is awarded as ¡°Garden Style Campus¡± by provincial government. Characterized with a perfect combination of classical Chinese style and modern style with lakes, mountains and small forest on campus, the university provides an ideal place for moral breeding and knowledge learning.WFU has more than 1700 staff among 23 teaching institutions. The university has 48 specialties in natural sciences, engineering, literature, economics, law, history, education, literature, management and agriculture. Students totaling over 20,000 come from 27 different provinces, municipalities or autonomous regions. WFU has always been active in international cooperation and exchanges. Friendly academic exchanges and cooperation relations have been established with universities in the Korea, Japan, USA, Canada, Britain and Austria.
WFU has strong teaching staff and experiences in teaching Chinese as a second language. Core principles include Chinese linguistic, Music, Fine arts, P.E. and other related subjects referring to degree instruction and advancing study. Around 200 students from the USA, Korea, Japan, Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia and other countries have come here for further study since the university was qualified to receive overseas students.
